Football betting rules at BetBetO Bet

These BetBetO Bet football betting rules explain how football bet settlement may depend on the market, the period covered and the confirmed event result. They are intended to help players understand football betting rules in Ethiopia before placing a bet, whether they choose a prematch market or live football betting.

Before confirming, check the market name, the time period it covers, the event status and any special conditions shown in the bet slip. A market labelled “90 minutes” is different from one that includes extra time or asks which team will qualify. If a market-specific rule differs from this general guide, the terms displayed for that market and the applicable Terms and Conditions take priority.

Standard settlement time: 90 minutes

Unless the market says otherwise, many standard football markets are settled on the score at the end of 90 minutes of play, including stoppage time or added time awarded by the referee. Stoppage time is part of the 90-minute period; extra time is not.

This period commonly applies to Match Result or 1X2, Double Chance, Total Goals, Handicap and Both Teams to Score markets. For example, if a team scores in extra time after a 1:1 score at the end of regulation time, that goal generally does not change a 90-minute market. Check the specific market wording rather than relying on the fixture’s final score alone.

When extra time counts

Extra time counts only when the market rules include it. Look for wording such as “including extra time,” “to qualify,” “winner of tie” or a market that names an outright winner or trophy winner. These terms do not automatically apply to a standard Match Result or 1X2 selection.

For example, a “Team A to qualify” selection may be settled using extra time and a penalty shootout if the market rules say so. A “Team A to win 1X2” selection would usually cover the stated 90-minute period only. Read the market description and any event-specific conditions before confirming.

How penalties are settled

A penalty awarded and taken during the match is a match event. If it results in a goal during a period covered by the market, that goal may count for the relevant score or total. A penalty shootout after extra time is different: its kicks are not usually added to match goals for 90 minutes markets.

Penalty shootout betting rules depend on the market. A shootout may determine a “to qualify” or outright winner selection when the market includes that method of deciding the tie. Do not treat the shootout score as the match score unless the specific market rules say it is included.

Cancelled, postponed and abandoned matches

A cancelled football match bet or postponed football match betting selection may be treated differently depending on the event and the applicable market rules. If a match is cancelled before it starts, postponed to another date, or abandoned after kick-off, the bet may be void, remain open or be settled in another way under those rules. A refund stake is not automatic in every situation.

For an abandoned match, some markets may already have a clearly determined result; whether those selections stand depends on the relevant terms. If the match resumes or is completed later, settlement may also depend on the time allowed by the operator’s rules. No specific resumption deadline is assumed here: check the event conditions and Terms and Conditions.

If an event is listed with an incorrect date, team or market, or an official result changes after the final whistle, settlement may be reviewed under the applicable rules. Keep the bet slip and event details available if you need to ask about a decision.

Live football betting settlement

Live football betting rules account for events unfolding during play. Prices can change quickly, and a market may be suspended while a goal, red card, VAR check, penalty or other significant incident is being confirmed. A selection submitted during a suspension or at an outdated price may not be accepted.

After submission, check whether the bet is shown as accepted in your bet slip. A pending or rejected selection is not the same as an accepted bet. Settlement can wait for confirmed event information. For current in-play markets, visit BetBetO Bet live.

Odds changes and bet confirmation

A football odds change before acceptance can affect whether a selection is placed and at what price. The system may offer a revised price for you to review or reject the submission. A bet is not confirmed just because you selected a market or pressed the submit button; check the bet slip for its status and accepted odds.

Review the market, stake and displayed odds before confirming, especially during live play. If the offered price changes, decide whether to accept the new terms before proceeding.

VAR, official data and result corrections

VAR reviews can lead to a goal being awarded or cancelled, a penalty decision being changed, or another match incident being reviewed. A market may be temporarily suspended while the decision is pending. Settlement should be based on confirmed event information and the rules for that market, not on an unconfirmed moment during the broadcast.

If an official source later corrects information after settlement, the handling of the bet is subject to BetBetO Bet’s Terms and Conditions. If you believe a settlement does not match the published market rules, contact BetBetO Bet support with the event and bet details.

Player, cards and corners markets

Details can vary across player markets, cards and corners, so check the specific market rules before placing a bet. For cards, confirm whether the market covers only players on the field or also coaches and substitutes. For corners, the rules determine which officially awarded or taken corners count.

A player selection may be void if the named player does not take part, but this depends on the market conditions. An own goal is generally not credited as a goal by the player who put the ball into their own net; check the market rules for how that affects the selection. Do not assume that every player, card or corner market uses the same settlement method.

Examples of football bet settlement

  • Scenario: The score is 1:1 after 90 minutes, and Team A wins in extra time. Settlement: A 90-minute 1X2 selection on Team A would generally lose because the market covers regulation time, subject to its stated rules.
  • Scenario: A match ends 0:0, then Team B wins the penalty shootout. Settlement: Over 0.5 total goals for 90 minutes would generally lose; shootout kicks are not normally counted as match goals for that market.
  • Scenario: A fixture is cancelled before kick-off. Settlement: The bet may be void or handled under another applicable event rule. Check the market conditions; a refund should not be assumed without them.
  • Scenario: A live selection is submitted while VAR is reviewing a possible goal. Settlement: The market may be suspended, and the selection may be accepted at a changed price or rejected. Check the bet slip for confirmation.
  • Scenario: A tie is decided by a shootout and the selection is “Team B to qualify.” Settlement: The shootout may count if the market rules include it.

Responsible football betting

Football betting should be entertainment, not a way to earn money. Set limits that suit your circumstances, take a break if betting stops being enjoyable, and consider self-exclusion or support if you are concerned about your play. See Responsible Gaming for available information. Betting is for adults only; read the Age Restriction Policy.
